Product Markings

UL Plumbing Mark UL Plumbing Mark is a Listing mark. Products displaying the UL Plumbing Mark have been evaluated to all applicable nationally recognized health effect and performance standards, and have demonstrated compliance with both the IPC and UPC plumbing installation codes.
UL Environmental and Public Health Standard (ELPH) UL Environmental and Public Health Standard (ELPH). The UL EPH mark appear on products that have been evaluated to Environmental and Public Health Standards. The "Classified" version is used for products complying with ANSI/NSF Standards and other food equipment hygiene codes and requirements. Examples include Food Service and Meat and Poultry Plant Equipment and Drinking Water Additives. The "Listed" version is typically used for products complying with UL's own published EPH Standards for Safety.
IAPMO Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) Certification Mark IAPMO Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) Certification Mark. Recognizes products that comply with BOTH the product’s performance standard AND the UPC. Applies to all plumbing products, appliances, pipe, fixtures, valves and related products.
IAPMO-T Manufactured Housing and Recreational Vehicle Certification Mark IAPMO-T Manufactured Housing and Recreational Vehicle Certification Mark. Recognizes products that comply with IAPMO’s MHRV product’s performance standard. Applies to all manufactured housing and recreational vehicle products.
IAPMO Uniform Pool, Spa & Hot Tub Code (USPC) Certification Mark IAPMO Uniform Pool, Spa & Hot Tub Code (USPC) Certification Mark. Recognizes products that comply with BOTH the product’s performance standards AND the Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code. Applies to all swimming pool, spa and hot tub and related products.
IAPMO Uniform Solar Energy Code (USEC) Certification Mark IAPMO Uniform Solar Energy Code (USEC) Certification Mark. Recognizes products that comply with BOTH the product’s performance standard AND the Uniform Solar Energy Code. Applies to all solar related products.
IAPMO Materials & Components Certification Mark IAPMO Materials & Components Certification Mark. Recognizes product materials and/or components that comply with applicable sections of the product’s performance standard. Applies to all materials and components.
IAPMO Classified Marking Certification Mark IAPMO Classified Marking Certification Mark. Recognizes products that comply with only the product’s performance standard BUT NOT recognized by the UPC. Applies to all classified plumbing systems, components and related products.
CSA Certification Mark CSA Certification Mark. A CSA mark with the indicator "US" or "NRTL" means that the product is certified for the U.S. market to the applicable U.S. standards. A CSA mark with the indicators "C" and "US" or "NRTL/C" means that the product is certified for both the U.S. and Canadian markets, to the applicable U.S. and Canadian standards. They signify that a CSA-accredited testing laboratory has evaluated a sample of the product and determined that it complies with applicable national standards.
CSA Blue Star CSA Blue Star. Indicates the product is certified to applicable U.S. or Canadian standards for appliances using gas or other petroleum fuel. For details, see the Gas Appliances Certification Program. If a gas product has electrical features, the Mark also indicates compliance to the applicable electrical Standard(s).
Energy Efficiency Verification (EEV) Mark For electrical products in Canada: The energy efficiency verification (EEV) marking means that a product complies with CSA standards for energy efficiency and performance. For details see the Energy Efficiency Verification Service.
International International "emc-Mark". Appears on products meeting the electromagnetic compatibility requirements of Europe, the United States, Japan, Australia, or any combination of the four. In the United States, some types of products can't be sold without proof of compliance to U.S. electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The types of products that are subject to EMC testing include medical and dental equipment, computers, microwave ovens, televisions, radios, transmitters, and radio-controlled equipment.
NSF Certified Product Mark (Business to Business) NSF Certified Product Mark (Business to Business). Signifies that a NSF-accredited testing laboratory has evaluated a sample of the product and determined that it complies with applicable national standards. Certified products must bear a laminated "foil" Mark with an identifying number and data plate or label.

Complete, functional units, as defined by an NSF Standard bear the "regular" Mark.
NSF Certified Product Mark (Business to Consumer) NSF Certified Product Mark (Business to Consumer). Signifies that a NSF-accredited testing laboratory has evaluated a sample of the product and determined that it complies with applicable national standards. Certified products must bear a laminated "foil" Mark with an identifying number and data plate or label.

Complete, functional units, as defined by an NSF Standard bear the "regular" Mark. When it is necessary to explain details regarding a certification, a rectangular box can be placed below the certification mark as shown.
NSF Certified Component Mark NSF Certified Component Mark. Listed items intended to be used along with other equipment or components to make a complete, functional unit as defined by an NSF Standard bear the "component" Mark.
NSF Certified Products Under an ANSI Accredited Program A Company with NSF Certified products under an ANSI accredited program may use the Accreditation Marks in combination with the NSF Mark.
NSF-U.P. Code Mark NSF-U.P. Code Mark. Demonstrates conformance to the UPC. Products that bear this mark include (but are not limited to the following): Plastic pipe and fittings, metal pipe and fittings, valves, backflow preventors, faucets and flexible connectors, bathtubs, toilets, sinks, gas piping and gas flexible connectors, solders, fluxes, solvent cements, primers, storage tanks, water closets, piping systems, showers, shower drains and liners and vacuum breakers.
cNSFus Mark cNSFus Mark. Attests that a product has been certified to both Canadian and U.S. requirements. NSFÕs certification programs are accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as meeting the requirements that demonstrate NSFÕs ability to certify products against applicable Canadian standards.
Both the cNSF and the cNSFus Marks have received widespread recognition and approval in all Canadian provinces and major cities.
ASSE Mark ASSE Mark: Symbol applied to products indicating compliance with a denoted ASSE standard. The particular standard is marked beneath the ASSE text within the circle.
Watersense Certification Symbol WaterSense Certification Symbol: WaterSense certification logos are affixed to products certified as being compliant with WateSense voluntary water-saving product specifications.
CE Mark CE Mark: Affixed to a product to designate that the product is complying with all applicable European Union legal requirements after the preparation of the Declaration of Conformity. Allows a manufacturer or importer, to freely circulate their product within the European market place.
